In-office labs & procedures
Novant Health Today's Woman OB/GYN & Pediatrics draws most needed lab work at our in-office lab. This means you and your child can get needed tests completed during your appointment so you will not have to visit another office or make an additional appointment to complete most lab work. The following labs are regularly drawn in our office:
- Urinalysis
- Urine pregnancy tests
- Rapid strep tests
- Influenza tests
- Hemoglobin tests
- Glucose tests
- Nexplanon insertion/removal
- IUD insertion/removal
Free pregnancy testing
Novant Health Today's Woman OB/GYN offers free pregnancy testing every Monday between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and every Friday between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
Ultrasounds
Ultrasounds bounce sound waves off of structures in the body. The way the waves bounce creates an image that can be displayed on a computer monitor or printed out as a picture. This helps your provider visualize organs such as your uterus or ovaries, and can also help your provider monitor the development of your unborn baby.
If an ultrasound is necessary during your obstetric or gynecologic care, you will be referred to Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center's Prenatal Assessment Center. Our office will help to schedule that appointment and your provider will receive the results of your ultrasound electronically.
